
Winston Churchill

Winston Churchill was born on November 30, 1874 and died on January 24, 1965. At the begining of World War II Churchill's was appointed First Lord of the Admiralty. In May 1940 Churchill was appointed Prime Minister and formed an all-party government. Churchill's greatest achievement was that he refused to capitulate when defeat by Germany was a strong possibility and remained a strong opponent of any negotiations with Germany, maintaining the policy of unconditional surrender of the Nazi Germany.
Franklin D. Roosevelt

Roosevelt was born on January 30, 1882 and died on April 12, 1945. He was the 32nd President of the United States. He also was the longest-serving holder of the office, and was one of the central figures of 20th century history. Roosevelt was known as a hard worker and is best known in leading the military alliance that defeated Axis powers during World War II. He was also known for many other achievements such as helping out with the Civil Rights Movement and many other things.
Joseph Stalin

Joseph Stalin was born on December 18, 1879 and died on March 5, 1953. He was the leader of the Soviet Union from the 1920's to his death in 1953. At the beginning of the war he was allied with Germany in the conquest of Poland. However in June 1941, Hitler broke the pact and invaded the Soviet Union in Operation Barbarossa. Stalin met in several conferences with Churchill and Roosevelt in Moscow, Tehran, Yalta, and Potsdam to plan military strategy. Through out the rest of the war he helped the allies beat the Axis.

Adolf Hilter

Adolf Hitler was born on April 20, 1889 and died on April 30, 1945. He was Chancellor of Germany from 1933 and leader of Germany from 1934 until his death. He was leader of the National Socialist German Workers Party better known as the Nazi Party. Hitler gained power in a Germany after World War I. He used propaganda targeting economic problems to gain absolute power. With a restructured economy and rearmed military, Hitler pursued an aggressive foreign policy with the intention of expanding German Living space and triggered the European theater of World War II by invading Poland.
Hideki Tojo
(General)
Hideki Tojo was born on December 30, 1884 and died on December 23, 1948. He was a General in the Imperial Japanese Army, a very strong nationalist. He was also the 40th Prime Minister of Japan; he served as prime minister during much of World War II, from October 18, 1941 to July 22, 1944. He was executed on December 23, 1948 after being sentenced to death for war crimes.
Isoroku Yamamoto
(Commander)
Isoroku Yamamoto was born on April 4, 1884 and died on April 18, 1943. He was the commander of the Imperial Japanese Navy for the first four years of World War II. He is generally regarded to be Japan's greatest naval strategist of the war, and among the greatest naval strategists in history. He ordered the attack on Pearl Harbor. He was also known for coming up with unique strategies, such as using bombers to attack during the night while he bombarded the enemy with his ships.
Benito Mussolini

Benito Mussolini was born on July 29, 1883 and died on April 28, 1945. He led Italy from 1922 to 1943 and is mostly known for his leadership during WWII. He created a Fascist state through the use of state terror and propaganda. His entry into World War II on the side of Nazi Germany made Italy a target for Allied attacks and ultimately led to his downfall and death. The allies knew him as Hitler's puppet.
